OcuBright helps to eliminate tear stains. OcuBright is not intended to treat or prevent diseases or affect the structure or function of animals.

The active ingredient is Tylosin. Tylosin is a natural antibiotic made by bacteria. It is an organic base that is moderately bound by serum proteins (30-40%) and possesses a high degree of lipid solubility. Tylosin is comparatively non-toxic and effective in very low dosage.  It is primarily being used in swine, chicken, bees and dogs. It has been in use for the last 55 years.  It has long been considered safe for long-term consumption with no adverse side effects.

OcuBright is also a nutritional supplement containing real beef, calcium, niacin, iron, fiber and vitamins such as A, B-12, C, D-3 and E.  It makes a positive contribution to most dogs’ diet.

More specifically, OcuBright’s ingredients are listed below:

Soy flour, soy grits, high fructose corn syrup, water, wheat flour, corn syrup, real beef, carrageenan, potassium Citrate, phosphoric acid, calcium carbonate, salt, sorbic acid (a preservative), locust bean gum, calcium propionate (a preservative), dl-methionine, zinc sulfate, ferrous sulfate, Vitamin E supplement, manganese sulfate, niacin, iron, choline chloride, mixed-tocopherols (form of Vitamin E), Vitamin A supplement, adipic acid, calcium pantothenate, thiamine mononitrate, copper sulfate, riboflavin supplement, Vitamin B-12 supplement, pyridoxine hydrochloride, folic acid, Vitamin D-3 supplement, calcium iodate, biotin, menadione sodium bisulfite complex (source of Vitamin K activity), sodium selenite 200mg or 300mg of tylosin as tartrate depending on the dog’s weight.

Not only.  Many veterinarians testified that they find Ocubright that contains Tylosin, an excellent delivery system to treat diarrhea in dogs.  Instead of selling Tylosin to dog owners as a powder that is not palatable to the dog, they sell them OcuBright.

In clinical tests OcuBright was shown to be safe and effective. Dogs can take OcuBright for long periods of time without adverse side effects. No signs of toxicity have been shown either in the clinical test or reported by the tens of thousands of dog owners that have used our product since 2011.

Some dogs experience a reduction of tear stains after just 14 days, while others may take 30 days or more. It largely depends on the dog’s weight.

We recommend using OcuBright twice weekly thereafter but please consult with your veterinarian. If excessive ocular tearing and discharge reoccurs, the dog can continue taking OcuBright.

We do not recommend OcuBright for dogs that may be pregnant or nursing. While no scientific studies have revealed any potential problems, we suggest erring on the side of caution.

OcuBright is sold exclusively through veterinarians. Selected veterinarians approved by the manufacturer are allowed to sell it online. Dog owners can only purchase OcuBright through veterinarians.

Yes, OcuBright can also be used on cats. Please consult with your veterinarian.
